Dengie Qualifier

Well my own horse (Olly) decided he didn’t want to perform at his best today, he just wanted to play. So we jumped the first fence, knocked it down then planted ourselves and reversed. But then proceeded to jump the rest clear! But never mind as I qualified on my friends horse Ria. We were second in the Dengie by only 0.01 of a second! This was the first time me & Ria jumped a course and only the 3rd time of riding her.
We also had Daisy competing on mum's horse Woody. They did extremely well & came 6th out of about 20 in the 70cm jumping! Well done Daisy and Woody!

Once again Olly had to take Brooke’s place as she managed too bruise two soles just a few days before! However this was another good experience for Olly as the cross country was one of the biggest courses he has ever done. Dressage was the usual, good marks throughout but we always manage to loose about 10 marks due to a couple of mistakes, this time it was cantering when we were suppose to be trotting. Never the less we kept cool and ended up 11th/32 after this. Just one unlucky pole show jumping & then onto the cross country. This was very good as he actually cantered all the way which is a 1st. We did have 1 little mishap along the way, at the water, but we weren’t annoyed with him as it was a strange combination which he had never come across anything of the sort before.

BRC Qualifier- Festival Of The Horse- Eventers Challenge.

After her break due to injuries, illnesses & wolf teeth, we used this event as a schooling round for Brook ready for Tweseldown next weekend. However she did a very nice clear Showjumping followed by a very fast cross country, with only one stop finishing 10th out of about 30.
She then did the pairs with a very green horse who didnt manage to compelte the course in the previous round. However Brook lead him round finishing with a very nice clear!
Olly was up next in the pairs class after waiting the whole day and getting very bored stood at the lorry, wasting any energy he had being naughty! This did'nt stop him from flying round the showjumping & cross country clear & getting 16 time faults for goin TOO FAST!! Do remember this as it will probably be the only time you ever hear of Olly having time faults for going too fast & not too slow! We finished 6th.

In place of Brook, Olly didn’t disgrace himself too much! In the dressage phase a few bucks didn’t loose us too many marks leaving us about 10th/30. With only one down Showjumping due to terrible weather and ground, clear cross country left us with a good chance of being placed. Sadly time faults took this from us, however this does leave us in good hope for his next season Eventing, as he wont be doing any more now until May next year.
