28th August - 3rd September- BSJA Scope Festival

Earlier in the year Brook qualified for 2 classes at scope the 1.05 & 1.10.
Day 1- Sunday- Katherine James- 1.05- Qualifier for main ring
After torrential rain the previous day the ground wasn’t very good & a long 6 hour journey the previoius day,  brook jumped a lovely round with just one down which was quite unlucky as she barely touched i. But i was pleased with how well she jumped.

Day 2- Monday- Katherine James- 1.05- Qualifier for main ring
In a different ring to the previous day where the ground was much worse and very chewn up! Although she did jump a lovely clear in the first round but then lost her back end whilst taking off to the first fence of the jump off, meaning we were eliminated. Very annoying as she was going so well!

Day 3- Thursday- Thermohomes 1.10- Qualifier for main ring
Again in the very chewn up ring where she fell over earlier in the week, but she jumped well up to the last line of fences a treble combination where she suddenly put in a very dirty stop for no reason with no warning! So again very frustrating as she was clear until that point!

Day 4- Friday- Katherine James- 1m- Consolation
Brook was in a horrible mood, after having no grass for almost a week, napping round corners and being a very moody mare, but she flew straight through the treble & finished with just two fences down.

Day 4- Friday- Thermohomes 1.10- Qualifier for main ring
In a slightly better mood after the first class, but still a bit argumentative, she jumped clear in the first round and flew round the jump off with a very fast time placing her in the top 5 but with two down, we didn’t qualify!

Day 5- Saturday- Thermohomes 1.05 Consolation
I was quite glad that Brook was in a better mood than the previous day although still had a bit of anger in her and tried a few tricks but she didn’t stop and have a paddy which was good and finished with just two down.

It was a very long week and i was glad to be home Sunday! but not for long as we are off to Hickstead Wednesday only for 4 days this time though!!
