9th September 2012 - Duckhurst Amateur 2nd Rounds

11/9/2012

We decided to go to the amateur 2nd rounds on way home from Hickstead, although the horses were quite tired but there are no other local qualifiers so it would have meant having to travel miles if we didnt go and the dates also clashed with other away show we were going to!
Brook & Trigger both qualfied for the 1m & 1.10 but i didnt think Trigger would cope with one class let alone two, so he just did the 1m.
He was very sloppy in the warm up and nocked a lot down which he never does in the warm up but went in and jumped a lovely double clear and came 10th the top 12 qualify so he was safe!! really pleased with him considering how tired he was.
Brook had a pole in the 1m just didnt bother at all, after jumping 1.10 the day before!
She jumped much better in the 1.10 and there was only 6 clears in the first round which meant she had already qualified without doing anything in the jump off so i just went steady to save her for Arena uk next week, she went double clear and came 3rd!
